The demanding storage requirements of research laboratories in industry and academia have necessitated the development of mid-scale storage systems capable of uniquely identifying individual samples. While traditional sample storage systems are extremely accurate problems can occur due to human errors during manipulation and removal. If a tube is incorrectly replaced or a bar code drops off, the tube is effectively lost within the system. The TraXis^® system comprises of a uniquely identified tube, a polypropylene tube rack, multi - piercable resealing cap and a range of specially designed readers and tube sorters to allow accurate identification and fast manipulation of the TraXis^® tubes.

TraXis^® tubes may be encrypted with up to 8.5 billion different combinations of a numerical code that provide a unique identification and radically enhanced sample storage traceability. To enhance sample identification throughput the TraXis^® reader can simultaneously scan all 96 tubes in a rack without the need for any additional location or tube removal. As samples are often reformatted into a variety of plates for screening Micronic also offer a multi-piercable cap; the cap is hydrophobic and can be pierced at least 12 times without risk of sample evaporation or contamination.
