Product news

The new TRINITY™ V3 Microbiology System provides complete industrial microbiology testing by combining automated zone reading and colony counting. TRINITY V3 utilizes high resolution color digital imaging technology to instantly read agar plates of any size up to 150 mm. This complete system is ideal for microbiologists in pharmaceutical, food, feed, water, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and research laboratories.

The AutoAssay® component includes two modules to automatically perform single or multiple plate antibiotic potency assays. The software conforms to US-FDA/AOAC/USP/BP/EP/JP guidelines and meets CFR Part 11, GLP standards. The system can read, measure, and record up to 6 plates per minute and includes the flexibility of an electronic caliper to measure and record zone diameters from unique sized plates or layouts (including 243 mm bioassay dishes.) Metal cylinders, agar wells, or paper disks may be used. AutoAssay provides all calculations, password-entry, and electronic record of raw data and printouts.

The DigiCounter™ component automatically counts microbial colonies and viral plaques. Entire plates or selected areas are instantly counted. Counts may be differentiated by size or color, and touching colonies can be discriminated. Individual colonies may be manually included or excluded.

TRINITY V3 includes IQ/OQ/PQ (Installation Qualification, Operation Qualification, and Performance Qualification) documents. The system connects to a standard Windows-based PC and requires no routine maintenance or service.

Microorganisms are a useful research tool as genetic vectors and, in immunology, for antibiotic susceptibility testing, cellular biology and genetics. Microorganisms commonly grow readily in incubators with microbial culture media; this can contain chromogenic supplements to differentiate between cell lines. Estimate your culture’s density of microorganisms with colony counters, or screen and select colonies for desirable clones with automated colony pickers. Additionally, equipment is available to monitor environments for the presence of microbes and identify with microbial identification instruments.
