Product news

By further developing the columns, Tosoh Bioscience continually extended the SEC column portfolio:

- Silica based TSK-GEL SW columns
- TSK-GEL PW polymer based columns
- Alpha and SuperAW columns suitable for SEC with aqueous and organic mobile phases

The TSK-GEL SEC brochure comprises all aspects of SEC, starting with the basics, features of the SEC columns, and application examples for the different column types.

TSKgel SuperSW columns deliver specifically high resolution and sensitivity and they are the latest development of the SW technology. The higher separation efficiency was reached by reducing both, the inner diameters of the columns and the particle size (4 µm). The columns are specifically suitable for SEC analyses that require high sensitivity. Typical areas of application are in biotechnology, proteomics, or quality control of biopharmaceuticals.

The TSK-GEL SuperSW brochure delivers a comprehensive overview of high resolution SEC. Aside from the basics of gel filtration and applications, the brochure contains recommendations for method development, care of the columns, and necessary optimization of HPLC systems.

Size Exclusion ChromatographySize exclusion chromatography (SEC) is a liquid chromatographic technique used to separate and identify molecules based on their size, including polymers, proteins, nanoparticles & nucleic acid. SEC is further subdivided into gel filtration chromatography (GFC) and gel permeation chromatography (GPC) when an aqueous or organic mobile phase is used respectively. HPLC-based SEC systems and columns are available for analytical separation alongside SEC spin columns or filters to prep samples for many protocols.
