Product news

Tosoh Bioscience - Diagnostics EMEA has launched the GR01 HbA1c analyzer, a compact and high-performance solution for glycated hemoglobin testing based on ion-exchange HPLC methodology, as part of its HLC-723® series of analyzers. Developed to meet the needs of clinical laboratories, the GR01 delivers precise, reproducible results, optimized workflows, supporting both, high throughput and improved diabetes care.

By delivering fast and highly accurate HbA1c results, the analyzer enables healthcare professionals to detect and monitor glycemic control with greater confidence and efficiency. Its enhanced ability to detect hemoglobin variants ensures that even complex patient profiles are accurately assessed, reducing the risk of misdiagnosis or delayed treatment.

This level of diagnostic precision supports individualized care plans that are responsive to each patient’s unique needs. Furthermore, the system’s rapid processing capabilities help reduce laboratory bottlenecks, allowing for faster clinical decision-making and improved patient throughput. As a result, clinicians can intervene earlier, adjust treatment strategies more effectively, and ultimately improve long-term health outcomes for patients living with diabetes.

Key features and benefits:

  • Ion-exchange HPLC with non-porous resin column to provide high-resolution chromatograms with excellent separation, ensuring, CVs of less than 1% in NGSP/intra-assay tests supporting better clinical interpretation, even in complex cases.
  • Two analysis modes (30s or 50s/sample): fast turnaround time with flexibility to adapt to workload - switchable with a single software click.
  • Throughput up to 120 tests/hour, including automatic flagging of hemoglobin variants (HbS, C, D, E).
  • Minimal user intervention:
    • Double-line buffer system
    • Automatic barcode tube orientation
    • Easy filter and column changes
    • No routine user maintenance.
  • Ergonomic, intuitive interface with 25 cm screen and guided workflows.
  • Onboard quality control with Levey-Jennings charts and lot traceability.
  • Fully integrated with leading lab automation platforms and hematology automation lines, supporting a standardized and fully connected workflow.

UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns.
