Product news

An advanced system to apply time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy on the micron scale has been developed by the Spex Fluorescence division of HORIBA Jobin Yvon.

The new system adapts our TCSPC components directly to a microscope to achieve the best sensitivity for fluorescence lifetime measurement. Light sources are interchangeable "plug and play" pulsed laser diodes or LEDs including the first deep UV LED light sources (280nm & 340nm). Ultraviolet LED 280 can measure fluorescence lifetimes of proteins, such as tryptophan, directly from tissue samples. The system can be used to measure lifetimes from 100ps up to 100us with TCSPC and for phosphorescence lifetimes, >10us, with MCS using state of art TBX04PMT detector and electronics.

This system is ideal for cellular and tissue analysis by monitoring fluorescence from conjugated fluorescence markers, quantum dots, auto fluorescence from proteins/DNAs and antibodies.

Types of electron microscope include scanning electron microscopes (SEM), transmission electron microscopes (TEM), scanning transmission electron microscopes (STEM) and cryo-electron microscopes. Focused ion beam (FIB) microscopes are useful for modifying or milling a sample surface with nanometer precision, as well as imaging.
