JEOL USA has recently published the third edition of its popular AccuTOF-DART Direct Analysis in Real Time mass spectrometry applications notebook.

The updated booklet contains new data on chemical reaction monitoring and detection of the peroxide explosives TATP and HMTD.

A compilation of 28 applications notes describes analyses performed using the AccuTOF™ time-of-flight mass spectrometer with the DART® ion source. Samples analyzed include pharmaceuticals, illicit drugs, foods, flavors, fragrances, industrial products, forensic evidence, and biological fluids.

The patented DART ion source analyzes liquids, solids, and gases in open air without solvents or sample alteration. Little or no sample preparation is required, and detection is instantaneous.

Introduced as a commercial product in 2005, the DART ion source has gained wide acceptance as a rapid and convenient analysis technique. The AccuTOF time-of-flight mass spectrometer provides exact masses and accurate isotopic abundances that can be used to confirm sample composition or determine the elemental composition of unknowns.
