Product news

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, is pleased to offer life scientists in the UK, Germany and France great savings on the premium range of Thermo Scientific products for QPCR. Until the 31st December 2008, three units of Thermo Scientific QPCR and QRT-PCR Master Mixes, Thermo Scientific White ABgene SuperPlates and Thermo Scientific ABsolute QPCR Seals will be available for the price of two.

Thermo Scientific reagents for QPCR and QRT-PCR have been specially formulated to provide consistent and reproducible data across all QPCR platforms. Products on offer include the Thermo Scientific ABsolute QPCR Master Mixes; Thermo Scientific ABsolute Blue QPCR Master Mixes (with an inert blue dye to ensure accurate pipetting and reproducible assays); Thermo Scientific ABsolute Fast QPCR Master Mixes for fast (<1hr) PCR protocols; and Thermo Scientific Verso QRT-PCR Master Mixes for one and two step QRT-PCR.

In addition, the '3 for 2' offer also applies to Thermo Scientific White ABgene SuperPlates and ABsolute QPCR seals. The ultra rigid polypropylene SuperPlates are designed to reduce warping during thermal cycling and the white reflects the fluorescent signal back to the detector more efficiently than natural plates. Used in conjunction with ABsolute QPCR Seals for improved optical transmissibility, this ensures optimal sensitivity and consistency of QPCR assays.

AntibodiesAntibodies are used in techniques such as confocal and fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT, immunohistochemistry, western blotting and immunopreciptation. Select specific antigen reactivity, high specific affinity, low non-specific binding, monoclonal or polyclonal, primary or secondary antibodies and associated conjugates such as an enzyme or dye for visualization.PCR and Thermal CyclingPolymerase chain reaction (PCR) kits and thermal cyclers are used for the in vitro amplification of DNA permitting subsequent analysis and experimental procedures. Explore a range of high-quality polymerase, primers and nucleotides or simplify your workflow with a PCR mastermix. Find reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR) and cDNA synthesis kits for RNA products and libraries. Quantitatively measure the amplification of DNA with real-time PCR (qPCR) and droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) kits and systems, and discover automated PCR setup solutions to increase throughput. Alternative DNA amplification methods also include recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) kits. Microorganisms are a useful research tool as genetic vectors and, in immunology, for antibiotic susceptibility testing, cellular biology and genetics. Microorganisms commonly grow readily in incubators with microbial culture media; this can contain chromogenic supplements to differentiate between cell lines. Estimate your culture’s density of microorganisms with colony counters, or screen and select colonies for desirable clones with automated colony pickers. Additionally, equipment is available to monitor environments for the presence of microbes and identify with microbial identification instruments. Useful system features include high-throughput, automation, robotic arms, automated liquid handling and associated database systems. Accessories in sample management include barcode scanners, heat sealers and tubes.Assay AssemblyAssay Assembly is technique used in drug discovery to develop assays to test the cytotoxicity, genotoxicity, or other activities of a compound on a cell. Assay assembly requires chip assembly, a delivery system and a detection and analysis method. Beneficial features of assay kits or automated systems include high-throughput, high speed and sensitivity and low signal to noise ratio.Microarray AnalysisMicroarrays, also known as biochips, are used for the detection and analysis of multiple genes, proteins, antibodies, or biomarkers on a single microchip. This can reveal information on protein or gene expression, single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), copy number variation (CNV), epigenetics and patient health in clinical diagnostic tests. Discover a range of microarray scanners and prefabricated antibody, protein, RNA and DNA microarrays for your analysis or consider creating your own custom microarrays with a microarray printer.
