Product news

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today introduced the new Thermo Scientific Nunc EasyFill Cell Factory, an easy-to-use multi-layer system for production-scale cell culture. The versatile Nunc EasyFill Cell Factory features two options for filling and harvesting. The traditional port enables aseptic filling through tubing connections while the large port facilitates the pouring of media directly into the Cell Factory system. The dual port design supports process transfer and scale up, from research applications through commercial production.

The Nunc EasyFill Cell Factory is designed as a single-use certified sterile system that eliminates the need for steam sterilization and its associated cleaning validations. Furthermore, the space-saving multilayer design provides more surface area in a smaller footprint, reducing manual handling in addition to reducing the risk of contamination associated with multiple feeding and seeding interventions common with traditional cell culture flasks. Cell Factories exhibit the same growth kinetics as traditional cell culture platforms (i.e., cell culture flasks). The Nunc EasyFill Cell Factory is available in 1, 2, 4 & 10 layer formats and is a linearly scalable device, allowing for easy process scale up.

The new Nunc EasyFill Cell Factory completes an extensive multi-layer cell culture offering from Nunc and expands the broad portfolio of Nalgene® and Nunc brand products designed to fulfill the upstream and downstream needs of bioprocessing.

Cell / Tissue CultureCell culture or tissue culture is used to study the biology of cells or tissues and to isolate cellular products in an environment which can be manipulated and well defined. Accurately control your culture environment with bioreactors or culture incubators, bind your cells to a surface or together with an extracellular matrix. Distinguish cell types with differential media or proliferate cells with certain characteristics using selective media. Enrich your media with supplements such as growth factors, sera and vitamins. Find the best cell and tissue culture products, kits and equipment in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Robotic InstrumentsRobotic instruments can be used for high-throughput automation of many lab processes. Such processes use instruments for assays like cell based assays and ELISA, for sample preparation like shakers, centrifuges and incubators, and for analysis such as sequencing and western blot analyzers. Useful features of robotic instruments include speed, reproducibility, barcode readers, software and automation.
