Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, today announced the new Thermo Scientific C2V-200 micro GC gas analyzer, designed for rapid analysis of natural gas composition. The C2V-200 micro GC gas analyzer is used both inside laboratories and on-line, offering improved performance at a reduced cost. The unique compact cartridge design and integrated microchip technology in the analyzer make it easier to use with greater control and productivity. Thermo Fisher will showcase the new C2V-200 micro GC gas analyzer within Thermo Scientific distributor booth 3725 during Pittcon 2011, being held March 13-18, in Atlanta.

Natural resource scarcity is creating higher demand for faster and more reliable analyzers. The C2V-200 micro GC increases productivity by accurately analyzing the calorific value of natural gas, providing reliable results in seconds. Based on proprietary Thermo Scientific micro GC technology, the core of C2V-200 is a unique cartridge, the size of a credit card. It includes an injection system, column and detector in a highly compact, more efficient gas analyzer that reduces maintenance costs and consumes less gas. Exchangeable column cartridges can be easily installed for flexible configuration and ease of use.

Enhancements in temperature control allow the micro GC columns to be programmed with a speed of 240ºC per minute for the analysis of a wider range of components. An integrated stream selector for auto calibration provides excellent, on-line, reliable analytical results. The C2V-200 micro GC is delivered with dedicated instrument control and data handling software to run on a system, generating rapid results from the time the C2V-200 is installed. Reporting is available in compliance with current ISO, ASTM and GPA methods.

C2V-200 Gas Chromatography System

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Built for fast reliable gas analysis. Integrated micro chip technology combined with narrow bore capillary GC columns result in a higher performance for lower costs. The C2V-200 micro GC is designed for ease of use, reduced maintenance, and low gas consumption. Our exchangeable column cartridges, with integrated heating zones, can be easily installed. Analysis in Seconds The integrated micro chip injector ensures precise injection, while the fast column temperature programming gives an extra dimension in method optimization. Together this enables fast and highly repeatable analysis results in seconds. Column Temperature Programming With a speed of 240°C / minute the GC columns can be temperature programmed up to 10 temperature segments with a 0.1°C repeatability up to 180°C. This unique capability enables faster solutions. Flexible Configuration The C2V-200 micro GC channels are independently operating GC’s, that can be assembled as one integrated instrument with common sample and carrier path. Or deployed as individual stand-alone instruments. No up front investment is required, to upgrade your C2V-200 micro GC with an additional GC channel later on. On the base of the first GC channel, optionally a 2-stream selector (double block and bleed) can be placed, which allows software controlled switching between sample gas and calibration gas. On the base of the last GC channel, optionally a sample gas vacuum pump can be placed, which enables air sampling. Immediate Start-Up and easy Control The C2V-200 micro GC is delivered with dedicated instrument control and data handling software to run on a PC. This brings you up to speed the moment you unpack the C2V-200. The C2V-200 microGC can be connected to the internet and controlled from virtually anywhere. For process solutions, an optional NeSSI (SP76-1.0) compatible foot enables flexible system design and integration. • Your gas analysis in seconds • Fast Temperature Programming • Configurable to your demand
