Product news

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, is pleased to announce the launch of ABsolute™ Fast QPCR Master Mixes for the rapid and reliable probe-based detection of DNA and cDNA targets. ABsolute Fast QPCR Master Mixes have been specially developed for Fast QPCR protocols to deliver high performance QPCR results, on all major QPCR platforms, in a fraction of the time previously required1.

By minimising QPCR protocol time1, ABsolute Fast QPCR Master Mixes help to maximise throughput while delivering unbeatable2 reproducibility, sensitivity and specificity. The mixes contain Thermo-Fast™ DNA Polymerase, which can be activated in just 5 minutes at 95ºC (compared to 15 minutes required for traditional QPCR master mixes). Further time savings are achieved by optimising the temperature of the combined annealing and extension step, and significantly reducing dwell times at each temperature, allowing the fast QPCR protocol to be completed in less than one hour

ABsolute Fast QPCR Master Mixes improve the performance of fast QPCR reactions when compared to other leading fast QPCR mixes, demonstrating increased sensitivity (lower Ct values), superior reproducibility of replicates and a more linear dynamic range2.

ABsolute Fast QPCR Master Mixes are compatible with any sequence-specific probe. In addition to accelerating QPCR analysis of DNA, the master mixes can also be used for QRT-PCR analysis of RNA targets and are ideal for use downstream of the Thermo Scientific Verso™ cDNA synthesis kit or any other reverse transcriptase kit.

ABsolute Fast QPCR Master Mixes are available in a broad range of formats, individually optimised to deliver fast results on all major QPCR platforms, both standard and fast. These ready-to-use reagents also contain the popular ABsolute blue dye. This inert dye provides visual confirmation of accurate pipetting, ideal for use with white QPCR plates, which reflect increased signal back to the detector for improved assay sensitivity. The features of ABsolute Fast QPCR Master Mixes deliver QPCR results in a shorter time, with increased confidence in reproducibility, sensitivity and specificity.
