Product news

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has introduced the Thermo Scientific TraceGOLD GC Column with SafeGuard, which combines an analytical gas chromatography (GC) column with a built-in guard column. The SafeGuard feature extends the life of the analytical column without compromising its chromatographic performance. Available in a range of guard column lengths and analytical column specifications, TraceGOLD™ GC Columns with SafeGuard are suitable for use in a broad spectrum of applications that necessitate the injection of involatile sample matrix, particularly in environmental, forensic, food safety and petrochemical analyses.

To prolong their life, GC columns are routinely cut to remove contaminant deposits. With conventional columns, however, this practice reduces the separation accuracy, peak resolution and column quality over time. With the TraceGOLD GC Column with SafeGuard users can cut columns during routine maintenance with no impact on the chromatography performance of the analytical column.

Gas ChromatographyGas chromatography (GC) is an analytical technique used to separate and quantitate mixtures of small and volatile compounds. Gas chromatographs or GC systems include components such as GC columns, detectors, pumps and autosamplers. Choose from packed or capillary GC columns, flame ionization (FID), photoionization (PID) electron capture detectors and selective or non-selective detectors. Useful features of analyzers such as BOD and COD include portability, easy calibration, automation and sensitivity.  Environmental test kits for pH, water, moisture, etc, should be accurate, sensitive, reliable, fast and easy to use.
