Product news

The Frontier Duo Fume Hood served as the flagship model for Esco’s Fume Hood line until the arrival of the Frontier Acela Fume Hood. The Generation 2 Frontier Duo Fume Hood incorporates several important features of the Frontier Acela line.

The main enhancement made to the EFD-G2 is to change the baffle and airfoil design to improve containment. The number of provisions for service fixtures and electrical outlets has been increased therefore increasing the model’s flexibility to cater to different customer requirements.

Esco Frontier Duo Fume Hood Overview

Esco Frontier Duo Fume hood offers a solution representing design and engineering innovations that are at the forefront of fume hood technology, providing superior containment of noxious chemical fumes at a broad range of face velocities while addressing workers' comfort through ergonomic design.

Its gentle pitch of the hood face enhances visibility and enables users to work further into the hood without strain. The angled front is also an aesthetic feature that positions your laboratory for the 21st century. The Hood lighting is pre-wired and lighting is electronically ballasted, energy efficient and starts instantly. Its color temperature on the other hand is tuned to provide a gentle, bright and comfortable work environment for the user.

Moreover, Esco Frontier Duo Fume hoods are manufactured for the most demanding laboratory applications. They are independently tested and certified by Invent, UK to meet the requirement of the ANSI/ASHRAE 110-1995 Standard. Furthermore, hoods are ASHRAE tested on the production line on a sampling basis and the sash is clearly labeled with all operating instructions and illustrations.

Esco also offers a variety of options and accessories to meet the user’s application requirements. The optional accessories are: fully configurable optional Esco Sentinel, additional service fixtures and electrical outlets, microprocessor control that provides a continuous display of face velocity, an alarm system that will alarm when the face velocity within the work zone falls to a low level that could compromise operator safety, optional motorized sash window for improved operator convenience, base cabinetry that is made available for additional storage area in the laboratory, optional distillation grids that can be ordered separately for factory installation, C-frame support stand with leveling feet, and ceiling closure panels that can be custom made.

Microorganisms are a useful research tool as genetic vectors and, in immunology, for antibiotic susceptibility testing, cellular biology and genetics. Microorganisms commonly grow readily in incubators with microbial culture media; this can contain chromogenic supplements to differentiate between cell lines. Estimate your culture’s density of microorganisms with colony counters, or screen and select colonies for desirable clones with automated colony pickers. Additionally, equipment is available to monitor environments for the presence of microbes and identify with microbial identification instruments.
