The XP Plus was designed around the BWB-XP proving enhanced functions to give more utility while maintaining the unsurpassed levels of accuracy, usability and reliability while significantly reducing analysis time. BWB Technologies customers do not need to waste valuable time changing filter and re-calibrating when a different measurement is required; as is a common requirement in most other Flame Photometer designs, some dating from the 1950s and 70s.

The BWB range of flame photometers remain the first and only 5 channel flame photometer with simultaneous detection and display of Sodium, Potassium, Lithium and Calcium. The XP Plus also includes the option to use either Cesium or Lithium as an internal reference system 9IRS) that acts as an internal standard to adjust small changes caused by atmospheric or environmental conditions during calibration and measuring.

With clean lines and contemporary bright color schemes, the XP Plus looks exceptionally modern and will fit into any laboratory. The instrument has a large LCD display, which can be viewed easily from any angle.

The metal chassis provides a sturdy and portable instrument enabling future recycling opportunities and building on the companies ‘green’ environmental protection plans. ROHS compliant components and materials are used wherever possible. The BWB operational Carbon Footprint is exceptionally low, in keeping with corporate objectives of being a responsible manufacturer.

Unlike other manufacturers who charge extra for vital accessories, BWB include everything required to use the product straight out of the box, simply apply BWB Technologies' motto “Just add Gas”.

We also provide, as standard, data sharing via USB from the BWB XP to your PC. This ties the output of the BWB Flame Emission Spectrometer (FES) to the internet or your company intranet systems and facilitates distributed control which is vital for Multi-National companies, Universities and various Governmental agencies.

Atomic Absorption / Emission SpectroscopyAtomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and atomic emission spectroscopy (AES) — also called optical emission spectroscopy (OES) — are used to detect the elemental constituents in samples. Both techniques involve the atomization of a sample. Atomic absorption spectrometers may use a flame or furnace to create an atomic vapor of the sample before irradiation with spectral light. Optical emission spectrometers may use a flame, inductively coupled plasma (ICP), microwave plasma (MP) or spark arcs to atomize and excite the sample. At higher excitation energies, electrons can be emitted instead of photons, which can be useful for samples that can’t be atomized and for surface analysis.
