Product news

Visitors to this year’s Pittcon conference and exhibition will have the opportunity to explore the latest Tecan advances in laboratory automation on booth #1506-1507. Running from the 17th to the 21st of March at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, USA, the exhibition will showcase a range of products from both Tecan’s Life Sciences and Partnering businesses, offering the scientific community a glimpse into the Tecan world of innovation.

The Tecan booth will feature a number of the Company’s renowned Freedom EVO® liquid handling workstations, as well as the Infinite® series of multimode microplate readers. Highlighting the flexibility of the Tecan range, the Company will be demonstrating the complete automation of both mass spectrometry sample preparation and compound weighing and dissolution. It will bring together market leading modules, such as the Air LiHa air displacement pipetting arm, and user-oriented software programs – including the Weigh Station Wizard Freedom EVOware® add-on – allowing delegates to explore how Tecan automation could benefit their workflows. For OEM providers, Tecan will be demonstrating the versatility of its Cavro® brand components, from the simplest valves to advanced syringe pumps and the modular Cavro Omni Robot, as well as the excellent pipetting performance of the Cavro ADP, giving instrument developers the opportunity to take advantage of Tecan’s expertise in liquid handling for general purpose pipetting applications.

Join Tecan at booth #1506-1507 to learn more about the latest systems and technologies on offer.

Microplate Readers / DetectorsMicroplate readers are used to automate the detection and analysis of labeled or label-free components in microplates during assays or live-cell monitoring. Microplate readers are generally distinguished by their mode of detection. Types include absorbance, luminescence, fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarization, TRF / FRET and multimode microplate readers. Microplate readers deliver a high throughput of samples by reading multiple wells simultaneously, with the 96-well format the most commonly used. As a result, microplate readers are often used in the drug discovery, bioassays, research and pharmaceutical industries for screening applications. Microplate loading can also be automated, with robotic microplate stackers to increase throughput.
