The Sysmex Corporation, the global leader in hematology, unveiled its latest series of hematology analyzers at the annual IFCC congress, EuroMedLab JIB in Paris today. The XN-L series follows in the footsteps of its game-changing big brother, the XN-Series. The new, smaller XN-L Series makes top quality hematology available for all. Sysmex is yet again changing the perspective in the field of hematology.

When introduced in 2011, the XN-Series set new standards in hematology. Yet not every lab needs the scope and detail provided by the Sysmex flagship. The XN-L meets the demands of smaller scale labs and those needing a top quality backup solution. Labs with perhaps a smaller budget or less detailed needs can now offer their clients the top standards for which Sysmex is world famous. Both the XN and XN-L are on show at this year’s EuroMedLab in Paris.

Sysmex is also showing solutions in its other areas of expertise, including urinalysis, Point of Care and morphology. Thanks to its exclusive distribution rights, it has another game changer on show – the ultra-flexible intelligent lab automation provided by GLP systems. Another highlight is the introduction of a new solution in hemostasis, the CA-1600 with increased results security thanks to pre-analytical checks and incorporating coagulation, chromogenic and immunoassay methodologies.

Closely related to its core technology, Sysmex purchased flow cytometry pioneers Sysmex Partec in 2013. Known especially in resource-poor settings for its essential healthcare and HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria monitoring solutions, visitors to EuroMedLab can witness the developments over the last 18 months and the great promise the acquisition holds for the future.

Sysmex can be found at booth G23 from 21-25 June.

Flow Cytometry / Cell CountingFlow cytometers are used to count, sort and examine multiple characteristics of cells. Other cell analysis equipment includes image cytometers, cell counters, fluorescence-activated cell sorters (FACS), magnetic-activated cell sorters (MACS), and a range of flow cytometry assay kits. Flow cytometers can reveal information on cell viability, cell proliferation, apoptosis and cell cycle progression, as well as identify cell populations and intracellular or cell-surface molecules. Additionally, some flow cytometers, known as FACS, have an additional sorting function after analysis. Cell counters and image cytometers count live and dead cell populations and can also conduct cell proliferation assays. Find the best flow cytometers, cell counters and cell sorters in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.HematologyIn Haematology / Hematology, complete blood cell counts (or full blood counts) are obtained using automated blood count analyzers to enumerate blood cell types.  Hematology also encompasses haemostasis and coagulation, thrombophilia and hemophilia, plasma viscosity and ESR analysis, hemoglobinopathies, cell morphology and haematinic measurement.Point-of-CarePoint-of-Care Testing (POCT) or Near Patient Testing (NPT) products are available for urine, blood and other clinical chemistry analyses. POCT includes: blood glucose testing, blood gas and electrolytes analysis, rapid coagulation testing (PT / INR), rapid cardiac markers diagnostics, drugs of abuse screening, urine strips testing, pregnancy testing, fecal occult blood analysis, food pathogens screening, hemoglobin diagnostics, infectious disease testing and cholesterol screening.Hematology Point of CareHematology SolutionsHematology solutions involve diagnostic tests and equipment used to analyze blood samples and diagnose blood disorders such as anemia, leukemia, and hemophilia. These tools include automated full blood count analyzers, reagents, and digital morphology systems. The ability to evaluate what someone has ingested through their urine enables fast detection and diagnosis of certain illnesses.
