Product news

Spectographic Pure Graphite (SPG) series materials are a type of extruded graphite. These materials are further purified so they have low impurities. Due to this high purity, they are suitable to be used for spectographic analysis.

These are typical properties for two grades of graphite:

BGWI-SPG 01
Bulk density 1.6 g per cm3
Specific resistance 10 μΩ.m
Porosity 25%
Compressive strength 35 MPa
Ash content 10 ppm

BGWI-SPG 02
Bulk density 1.7 g per cm3
Specific resistance 8 μΩ.m
Porosity 21%
Compressive strength 35 MPa
Ash content 10 ppm

Typical applications for graphite products are Spectographic Analysis Electrodes and Spectographic Analysis Crucibles. Crucibles are produced to fit the oxygen and nitrogen analyzer and hydrogen decider products of the major models. Also, crucibles are produced to specification according to customers' drawings or samples.

ElectrophoresisElectrophoresis equipment is used to separate mixtures of protein, DNA or RNA, based on their electric charge, size and other physical characteristics, by passing them through a medium such as a polyacrylamide gel, an agarose gel or a capillary tube. Electrophoresis equipment includes horizontal and vertical gel electrophoresis chambers, isoelectric focusing systems, 2D electrophoresis and capillary electrophoresis instruments. Precast gels with a gradient can be used or gels can be hand cast. Samples are run alongside ladders or markers to identify the approximate size of a molecule. Separated proteins and nucleic acids in the gel can be stained or probed with fluorescent markers and then imaged and detected using gel documentation instruments, transilluminators, densitometers and scanners. Products to assist sample preparation include filtration equipment, evaporators, membranes and sieves.Atomic Absorption / Emission SpectroscopyAtomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and atomic emission spectroscopy (AES) — also called optical emission spectroscopy (OES) — are used to detect the elemental constituents in samples. Both techniques involve the atomization of a sample. Atomic absorption spectrometers may use a flame or furnace to create an atomic vapor of the sample before irradiation with spectral light. Optical emission spectrometers may use a flame, inductively coupled plasma (ICP), microwave plasma (MP) or spark arcs to atomize and excite the sample. At higher excitation energies, electrons can be emitted instead of photons, which can be useful for samples that can’t be atomized and for surface analysis. Explore electron spectroscopy equipment such as Auger spectrometers and photoelectron spectrometers for surface elemental analysis of samples.
