Shimadzu introduces i-Series LC-2070/LC-2080 integrated HPLC systems

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments has launched the i-Series LC-2070/LC-2080 Integrated High-Performance Liquid Chromatographs (HPLC), the latest evolution of its i-Series line.

Building on the proven performance, speed and user-friendly design of previous i-Series models, the new LC-2070/LC-2080 systems deliver enhanced robustness, superior data reliability and next-generation automation in a compact, tabletop format.

Equipped with Shimadzu’s Analytical Intelligence™, a suite of smart functions, the new i-Series HPLC systems ensure optimized performance from start-up to shut-down. These functions include automated bubble detection and resolution, self-diagnostics, predictive maintenance and recovery tools, all designed to reduce downtime and minimize operator workload.

The system also introduces a new integrated column management platform (iCMP), an integrated solution for tracking column usage that improves both usability and data integrity. Combining these functions with excellent baseline stability, ultra-fast injection cycles, and outstanding reproducibility with near-zero carryover drives productivity and ensures quality results.

Shimadzu continues its commitment to sustainability with design choices that reduce environmental impact across the product lifecycle. Sustainable chemically recycled plastics are used in select components to reduce petroleum dependence and carbon dioxide emissions. LabSolutions software’s shut-down and ecology modes lower power consumption, while durable components reduce long-term waste and operating costs.

To enhance user experience, a vibrant, full-color LCD touch panel provides intuitive navigation for users of any skill level. Operators can follow on-screen maintenance guides, scan QR codes for instant troubleshooting and monitor column conditioning and peak shapes in real time, all directly from the instrument’s display.

When paired with Shimadzu’s LabSolutions CS and LabSolutions Direct software, users can securely access data and control instruments remotely from smart devices, ideal for flexible or hybrid work environments.

LabSolutions MD software simplifies method development, enabling even non-experts to quickly create optimized workflows. Peakintelligence™, Shimadzu’s AI-powered chromatogram peak detection algorithm, reduces manual correction time by approximately 75%, improving analytical consistency and reliability.
