Sample Protector是一种动物组织、植物材料、培养细胞、酵母等的稳定剂。本制品是无色无毒的透明溶液，能够迅速渗入新鲜组织细胞的胞浆中，快速有效地灭活生物样品中的RNA 酶和DNA酶，使样品中的RNA和DNA在一定时间内于室温或4℃保存仍不会被降解。
从新鲜组织、细胞中提取RNA或DNA时，往往由于种种原因不能立即处理样品，此时即使将样品保存于-80℃，样品中的RNA或DNA也会不同程度地降解，而液氮保存又极不方便。使用本制品可以免去使用液氮或超低温冰箱的不便， 同时也可以有效解决组织、细胞样品的保存及运输问题。此外，如果将不同时期收集的样品都预先存放于本试剂中，可以做到立即终止并固定RNA表达的时序变化，减少实验组间的误差。
