Enhancements to Thermo Scientific Finnpipette F1 and F1-ClipTip pipetting systems improve comfort

Two pipetting systems designed for accurate liquid transfer in a range of applications spanning high-throughput pharmaceutical and biotechnology laboratories to small academic and industrial laboratories are now redesigned for enhanced comfort.

For decades, Thermo Scientific Finnpipette pipetting systems have been designed for exceptional productivity and ergonomic utility across thousands of laboratories and applications worldwide. The redesigned Finnpipette F1 pipettes and Thermo Scientific F1-ClipTip pipettes now have added features designed to improve user comfort and productivity:

  • Silent and effortless volume adjustment with a textured knob provides a firmer feel when setting volumes
  • A wider finger hook design and handle grip strips provide improved stability and a more secure, comfortable grip
  • The lightweight handle and lower plunger forces help reduce the risk of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)

“Effective liquid handling is critical to ensuring experimental accuracy and as such, users need dispensing tools that can repeatedly and reliably deliver accurate volumes,” said Kelly Miller, business director of liquid handling consumables, at Thermo Fisher Scientific. “When designing upgrades for our ClipTip and Finnpipette systems, we spent time talking to our existing customers to identify their common pain points and set out to enhance their user experience. One result of the new lightweight design is that it supports the reduction of hand fatigue, and the lower pipetting forces will decrease the risk of RSI during extended use.”

These two pipetting systems are uniquely designed for different application needs. F1-ClipTip pipettes feature an interlocking tip attachment that ensures a complete seal on every channel with minimal attachment and ejection force. Once attached, the tips are locked firmly in place and are designed not to loosen or fall off, regardless of application pressure. The F1-ClipTip pipettes are designed for medium-to-high-throughput laboratories that are concerned with ergonomics, sample security, speed and improved accuracy. The Finnpipette F1 pipettes deliver the same ergonomic benefit in a lightweight design that maximizes user comfort and reduces strain. The Super Blow-out technology for effective delivery of microvolumes makes the Finnpipette F1 an ideal system for applications that use expensive reagents and valuable samples.

Finnpipette Digital - Fixed Volume Pipette

The design takes advantage of one´s natural movements in pipetting and facilitates repetitive routine pipetting of single volume by saving the user from constant physical strain and other work-related injuries. Product detail: A fixed pipette is ideal for repeated pipetting of a single volume. Fixed volume Finnpipettes offer the same features and advantages as other Finnpipette Digital pipettes: New, streamlined design. Super blow-out (1 - 50 µl). Soft-touch tip ejection. Safety label. Fully autoclavable. Finnpipette Fixed Volume pipettes are available in the standard sizes listed below. Non-standard volumes are available on request, at no extra charge.

The rounded handle, modified grippy finger rest and the large display windows enhance operator comfort and efficiency. Finnpipette Digitals also feature several breakthroughs in liquid handling technology - soft-touch tip ejection with power-boosted gearing mechanism patented and super blow-out for 0.2 - 50 µl micro volume pipetting. For absolute sterility, all Finpipette Digitals are completely autoclavable.
