Product news

Progen Scientific Ltd is continuing the promotion of high purity water systems from TKA and this week to complete the range of TKA products Progen is pleased to introduce details of TKA Water Softener Systems. The TKA range supplied from Progen is designed to work in any laboratory to provide high purity softened water at competitive prices.

TKA Water Softening Systems for reliable water softening are based on ion exchange systems. The water softening systems use cation exchangers to replace calcium and magnesium ions for sodium ions. There are two different systems depending on the requirements of the laboratory.

TKA Single Water Softener Systems

These systems are designed for discontinuous use. When the ion exchange resin is exhausted regeneration is automatically started but specifically the time at which regeneration is conducted can be set according to the quantity of water required e.g. the preset can to start at 1 a.m. but with fully automatic control.

The quantity of water required the local water quality and the use that the water is put to will determine the size and type of regeneration system required. TKA offer a range of systems to meet individual needs.

TKA Twin Water Softener Systems

These systems are designed to provide a continuous supply of water for those instruments that require a constant supply of softened water. The dual exchange containers ensure that softened water is always available. Regeneration is automatically started when the capacity of one exchanger is exhausted with water flow being directed through the other exchanger.

The following parameters can be pre set:

  • Time control - e.g. regeneration conducted every 72 hours at 2 a.m.
  • Quantity control - e.g. regeneration can be conducted after a set volume of water has been produced.
  • Quality control - with hard water sensors the regeneration can be carried out according to quality of water.

As with all of the TKA range the supply is supported through Progen Scientific's dedicated customer service and support team. The team has an excellent record of customer service and support.

Explore a range of filter formats, including filter paper, plates and membranes for your separation needs. While larger particulates may be separated by gravity filtration, smaller particulates may require additional force for timely separation. Microfiltration equipment includes vacuum filters, as well as positive pressure, crossflow and centrifugal filtration devices.
