Genevac has launched a new second-generation version of its unique Speed Trap refrigerated solvent condenser for vacuum concentrators.

Designed and field proven to considerably improve the performance of any vacuum concentration system, the new Speed Trap uses fluoropolymer components that provide enhanced solvent resistance and a high safety plastic coated solvent collection vessel.

The Speed Trap features a novel cooled condenser coil, which is extremely efficient, compared to traditional evaporator condenser designs and operates in a novel way. The cold condenser coils are suspended directly in the vapour path, solvent vapours condense directly on to the coils and run off into the collection vessel below without freezing, even when using water. This method is highly efficient, with more than twice the condensing power of a similar system.

Users of the Speed Trap can readily see the solvents in the trap, and emptying is simple, requiring no defrosting. The plastic coated collection vessel is removed with a simple quarter turn, allowing users to quickly, easily and safely empty the cold trap.

Genevac is the world's leading supplier of innovative, high performance centrifugal evaporators and concentrators. While offering benefits when used in tandem with any vacuum concentrator the Speed Trap was designed and provides optimal performance enhancement with the Genevac miVac - a range of affordable centrifugal concentrators for biological sample applications.

miVac SpeedTrap

Genevac

Unique frost free cold trap - the miVac SpeedTrap does not need  defrosting, all solvents (including water) collect as liquids and can be eaily emptied - collection jar is simply removed by quarter turn. The miVac SpeedTrap is compact, requiring little bench space and suitable for use with a wide range of solvents, from volatile organic solvents through to water and some of the higher boiling point solvents. The SpeedTrap is designed to compliment the miVac series of concentrators, however it can also be used with most of your existing equipment from centrifugal concentrators to rotary evaporators and lyophilisers. The miVac SpeedTrap can also be used for freeze drying when configured with a miVac Super vacuum pump, as a combined concentration / freeze drying workstation with a miVac vacuum concentrator or as a stand-alone freeze drier.
