Q-Adept the new HPLC low pressure gradient HPLC system from Cecil Instruments, offers ultimate gradient performance with dynamic mixing and multi-solvent handling. Quaternary to Binary, as well as isocratic operation is provided, with the flexibility of a very compact modular system of minimal stack height.

The dual piston pump with electronic feedback, provides pulse free solvent delivery from 0.001 to 10 mL/min, with low delay volume. The newly designed, heated/chilled and heated ovens, each accommodate three columns, pre-columns and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger avoids column temperature gradients.

Used with the WaveQuest, the company's ultra-fast scanning (dynamic absorbance detector) DAD, only one elution is required to both scan and measure low concentration eluting peaks, reducing experimental time by a factor of two. Spectral Storage, Library Search and Match Factors are all available. The low drift of the detector, up to 100 times better than normal Photo Diode Array detectors, saves the cost of an extra variable wavelength detector.

The whole system may be controlled by Cecil Instruments' completely new PowerStream Software, which offers superb data processing and is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant.

UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns. For more specialized HPLC, explore FPLC, countercurrent LC and simulated moving bed systems. Used in conjunction with high-throughput screening, the libraries of stored compounds are often generated for specific purposes as a drug target or disease model. Cheminformatics are commonly used when designing a compound library and software can be used to analyze the screening process.  Biopharmaceutical AdvancesBiopharmaceutical advances follow the development of pharmaceuticals derived from biotechnology, also known as biotechnology medicines. Biopharmaceuticals may be produced from cell lines, plants, or microbial cells. Important considerations of biopharmaceutical use include application, cost, production process and purification.Bioprocessing / FermentationBioprocessing is the use of biological materials to perform commercial, scientific or medical research processes. Biological materials used include cells, enzymes and organisms. Usually bioprocessing requires a batch or continuous bioreactor such as a fermentor or cell culture system. The advantages of using a reactor include high productivity, easy configuration, adjustable values and automation.
