Product news

Promega Corporation has announced the launch of the QuantiFluor® ONE dsDNA System, a sensitive, dsDNA-specific fluorescent dye suitable for use in both research and clinical workflows. The new dye system is integrated into the new Promega Quantus™ Fluorometer and GloMax® detection instruments, but is compatible with any fluorometer capable of measuring the appropriate fluorescence excitation and emission spectra.

The QuantiFluor ONE dsDNA System is supplied in “add-and-read” format, enabling users to simply quantitate even low concentration samples with confidence, and without dilutions or additional tubes. The dye system has significantly increased sensitivity compared to absorbance based systems and is highly specific to dsDNA, showing minimal binding to ssDNA, RNA, protein and interfering compounds.

The QuantiFluor ONE dsDNA System expands the company’s range of nucleic acid quantitation reagents and instrumentation, which includes the recently launched Quantus Fluorometer for highly sensitive (up to 40,000x higher than absorbance-based methods) quantitation of dsDNA, ssDNA, and RNA. Quantus’ increased sensitivity and range leads to higher success rates in downstream applications such as PCR cloning, transfection and next-generation sequencing. Quantus is also the ideal solution when working with samples such as FFPE tissue which contain low levels of nucleic acid, enabling users to move on to downstream detection assays knowing that DNA or RNA is present.

Other dyes for use with Quantus include dsDNA System, ssDNA System, and RNA System. Quantus is optimized for use with QuantiFluor Dyes, but is also compatible with other fluorescent quantitation dyes.

QuantiFluor® ONE dsDNA System

Promega Corp.

QuantiFluor® ONE system maximizes sensitivity and efficiency for dsDNA quantitation.   The QuantiFluor® ONE dsDNA System contains a fluorescent double-stranded DNA-binding dye (504nmEx/531nmEm) developed for use in an “add-and-read” format for dye and standard, making sample quantitation easy. This system enables sensitive quantitation of small amounts of double-stranded DNA (dsDNA). The QuantiFluor® ONE dsDNA System was developed using the fluorescence module of the GloMax® Multi+ Detection System with Instinct® Software, GloMax® Discover System and the Quantus™ Fluorometer. The QuantiFluor® ONE dsDNA System can be used with any fluorometer that is capable of measuring fluorescence at the appropriate excitation and emission wavelengths. QuantiFluor® ONE dsDNA System Features: Easy to Use - Add-and-read format makes this dye simple to use—no dilutions, no extra tubes. Sensitive - Significantly better sensitivity compared to absorbance at 260nm (NanoDrop®), allowing users to quantitate their low concentration samples with confidence. Highly Specific to dsDNA - Minimal binding to ssDNA, RNA, protein and interfering compounds. Flexible with Instrumentation - Integrated on Quantus™ and GloMax® detection instruments, yet compatible with any fluorometer capable of measuring the appropriate fluorescence excitation and emission spectra.

Quantus™ Fluorometer

Promega Corp.

The Quantus™ Fluorometer is an easy-to-use and affordable single-tube fluorometer.   The highly sensitive instrument is preprogrammed with QuantiFluor® Dye protocols for single-stranded DNA, double-stranded DNA and RNA quantitation but is also compatible with other fluorescent assays. Quantus™ Fluorometer does the math for you and displays your concentration after each measurement automatically. No computer is required. The Quantus™ Fluorometer will save and display the 20 most recent measurements. However, the fluorometer can be connected to a computer to transfer data in real time. Quantus™ Fluorometer Features: High Performance - Integrated with QuantiFluor® Dyes for high sensitivity, broad dynamic range and target specificity. Great for low-level sample quantitation such as FFPE or viral samples. Increased Sensitivity - Significantly increased sensitivity over absorbance at 260nm (NanoDrop®) for those samples that are low in concentration. Ten times more sensitive than Qubit® 2.0. A detection limit of 50pg/ml, compared to 500pg/ml for the Qubit® 2.0. With a customized low standard curve, the detection limit can read as low as 1pg/ml. Easy-to-Use Workflow and Navigation - Flexible with custom protocols and user-defined settings. PC software for data management workflow. Affordable Price - Cost-effective to easily incorporate into your laboratory.
