Microbiological analyses are becoming increasingly demanding. Sample-taking, transport, diluting and blending are factors essential for the quality and reproductibility of the result.

Before analysis, each sample must go through several preparation steps including intake, dilution, blending and plating. The dilution, then homogenization phases allow extraction of all the bacteria from the sample and their suspension in the diluent.

The sterile bags made by interscience (BagFilter, BagPage, BagLight) ensure complete hygiene throughout the homogenization process.

BabyGravimat® was designed in response to the increasing demand for precision in the quality process. It was created to make microbiological sample dilutions directly in sterile BagFilter® and Bagpage® filter bags or sterile BagLight® non-filter bags.

The operating principle is easy and efficient. Controlled by a microprocessor, the BabyGravimat® dilutor consists of a weighing cell and a peristaltic pump for gravimetric dilution. It will add a mass of diluent depending on the weight of the sample. There is no more need for fastidious and precise sample weighing by the lab technician. BabyGravimat® automatically dilutes the solid sample with the appropriate weight of diluent, or dispenses the required amount of diluent.

With only two keys to press, BabyGravimat is simple and easy-to-use.

The dilutions are repeatable and reproductible, no matter the user, ensuring quality and security for the laboratory.

BabyGravimat®’s commands have been stripped down to the basics. Only two keys to press to dilute quickly. There is one function for dispensing, one scale and the possibility to install two pumps. The calibration is once done by the technician and the BabyGravimat® automatically memorizes the weight of the sample. The built-in scale is multifunctional.

With the option to connect to the LIMS of the laboratory or to a printer the now indispensable traceability in the food-processing industry is guaranteed. Compact and adjustable, BabyGravimat® can be used with all kinds of bags or receptacles thanks to the adjustable arm.
