The p3 Protein Precipitation Filtration plate from Porvair Sciences Ltd (www.porvair-sciences.com) offers significant advantages versus traditional protein precipitation methodologies in terms of productivity, mess-free operation and ease of use.

Based on the industry standard Microlute™ design, the p3 enables researchers to process 96 protein precipitation experiments simultaneously resulting in a considerable increase in sample throughput. Incorporating a novel treated frit matrix the p3 advantageously eliminates wetting-out and leaking of sample through the plate without resorting to complex valve systems. The novel treated frit matrix also maintains high flow rates enabling quick sample preparation times. The p3 plate has been exhaustively tested in independent tests and shown not to have any major adverse non-specific binding problems.

Adopting the footprint of a standard 96-well plate the p3 is readily integrated into automated systems offering the possibility of further throughput gains. The protocol used by the plate is little changed from the familiar CRASH protein precipitation method.

Explore a range of filter formats, including filter paper, plates and membranes for your separation needs. While larger particulates may be separated by gravity filtration, smaller particulates may require additional force for timely separation. Microfiltration equipment includes vacuum filters, as well as positive pressure, crossflow and centrifugal filtration devices.
