Hamilton Storage Technologies announces the addition of the SAMple Puncher, an integrated tube processing module, to its -20˚ and -80˚C Sample Access Manager (SAM) systems, enabling automated punching of tubes from their storage trays. With this new feature, users have the flexibility to add Hamilton’s automated SAM systems to library environments that use REMP labware. The SAM handles and stores multiple labware types from a wide range of manufacturers and is ideal for compound management and biobanking applications.

Hamilton Storage Technologies’ SAM systems deliver more functionality than other automated platforms and are more cost efficient. SAM systems offer tracking and access features for sample security, one- and two-dimensional barcode reading and liquid nitrogen backup. Additionally, the SAM software provides complete audit trails and tools for chain of custody and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

“Many users feel chained to a more expensive, less flexible automation platform because no other system could cherry-pick their punch-type tubes,” explained Matt Hamilton, vice president of Hamilton Storage Technologies. “We’ve developed an entirely new method for punching tubes to a destination rack, so customers can now switch to the more full-featured Hamilton platform or add us as they expand their existing library management systems.”
