New sterile CHROMAFIL® disposable filter for sterile filtration and sterilisation

Product news

Suspended matter in liquid samples have to be removed before injection by filtration, in order to protect the analytical instruments and columns.

Therefore, MACHEREY-NAGEL offers a broad range of colour coded CHROMAFIL® disposable filters, with a solvent resistant polypropylene housing and different membranes like cellulose mixed esters, cellulose acetate, regenerated cellulose, polyamide, PTFE, polyether sulfone and polyester. Furthermore the construction of the housing leads to a constant distribution of liquid on the whole membrane area and a minimised risk of tearing the membrane.

This range now has been enlarged by the new Sterilizer PES filter, a 0.22 µm polyether sulfone filter for sterile filtration and sterilisation with an extreme low protein binding capacity. Furthermore this filter offers a low hold up volume (< 50 µl), a burst pressure > 6 bar and a bubble point > 3.3 bar.

FiltrationFiltration and microfiltration are used to separate solids, particulates or large molecules from fluids (liquid or gases) in order to purify the filtrate. Explore a range of filter formats, including filter paper, plates and membranes for your separation needs. While larger particulates may be separated by gravity filtration, smaller particulates may require additional force for timely separation. Microfiltration equipment includes vacuum filters, as well as positive pressure, crossflow and centrifugal filtration devices.
