Ibidi GmbH releases a chamber for chemotaxis and migration studies of non-adherent cells in 3D gel matrices called µ-Slide Chemotaxis 3D. This new slide allows the motion tracking of non-adherent chemotactically active cells like lymphocytes, dendritic cells or macrophages in different gel matrices (e.g. collagen).

Ibidi’s technology was funded by the german BMBF. ibidi was and is highly engaged in the focus program “optical technologies (Biophotonics)” in joint research projects.

Dr. Roman Zantl, managing director and head of R&D at ibidi, commented:
“The µ-slide Chemotaxis 3D was developed in close collaboration with US and European scientists. With this new slide we see a big potential to simulate interstitial chemotaxis of tumor and endothelial cells. We are proud to demonstrate the new µ-Slide Chemotaxis 3D to the scientific community during a Live Cell Imaging Workshop in Martinsried on July 6, 2010.”

Cell / Tissue CultureCell culture or tissue culture is used to study the biology of cells or tissues and to isolate cellular products in an environment which can be manipulated and well defined. Accurately control your culture environment with bioreactors or culture incubators, bind your cells to a surface or together with an extracellular matrix. Distinguish cell types with differential media or proliferate cells with certain characteristics using selective media. Enrich your media with supplements such as growth factors, sera and vitamins. Find the best cell and tissue culture products, kits and equipment in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.
