Product news

Radleys (Saffron Walden, UK) has announced that it will unveil, at Analytica 2008, a suite of new products designed for laboratories seeking to enhance the productivity and improve the efficiency of their chemical synthesis or process development.

Visitors to Stand B2.550 will have the chance to see the launch of Carousel Mk3 - the next generation of Radley's market leading parallel synthesis reaction stations. Like its illustrious predecessors the Carousel Mk3 has been designed to provide busy laboratories with an easy to use tool that simultaneously heats and stirs up to 6 x 5ml, 10 ml, 25 ml, 50 ml, 170ml or 250ml round bottomed flasks under inert gas and reflux. Listening to users worldwide - Carousel Mk3 includes innovations that make it easier to use, easier to clean and more resistant to chemical corrosion as well as providing improved energy efficiency and enhanced reaction tube visibility.

Compact in design the new Cool-On™ is an affordably priced cooling and stirring work station designed to accommodate single round bottom flasks from 50ml to 2 litres. Cool-On is designed to fit on a standard stirring hotplate, which provides magnetic controlled stirring through a magnetic stirring bar in the reaction flask. All Cool-On bowls are manufactured from a rugged, chemically resistant HDPE polymer which is compatible with a wide range of freezing mixtures including dry ice/acetone.

Also on display for the first time will be Storm™ and Breeze™ - a new range of heating and cooling workstations designed to be used in conjunction with a Carousel Reaction Station together with a Radleys Tornado Overhead Stirring unit to provide unrivalled powerful overhead stirring to multiple reaction flasks. Additional attachment of a recirculating fluid heating/cooling unit allows a fully comprehensive range of heating and cooling operations to be performed. Other products on display from Radleys will include the Lara™ Controlled Laboratory Reactor, Heat-On™ heating blocks, Metz-Syn Heater-Shaker, Greenhouse Blowdown evaporator and Starfish™ multi-experiment workstation.

Combinatorial ChemistryCombinatorial chemistry, also known as combichem, is a technique used in drug discovery to create libraries of structurally related compounds. A library is generated by synthesis with a chemical reactor system or by computer-based modeling of compound combinations. When undertaking combinatorial chemistry consider reagents, buffers, resins and standards.Baths and CirculatorsLaboratory baths and circulators are capable of refrigerating and heating to meet the demands of any temperature controlled application.Refrigerators Freezers and CryogenicsRefrigerators, Freezers & Cryogenics can be used for preservation or experimental purposes. Types of freezers include deep freeze, -80C°C, ultra-low temperature, explosion proof, cryogenic and controlled rate freezers. Freezing is also used in freeze-drying equipment for dehydration processes. Feature to consider in freezers include temperature control and recorders, failure alarms and self-closing mechanisms.Shakers, Stirrers and MixersShakers, stirrers and mixers are used for mixing liquids and solids for laboratory applications. There is a wide range of laboratory mixing equipment available, including magnetic stirrers, orbital shakers, linear shakers, microplate shakers, 3D gyratory rockers, rotators & vortexers. Additional platforms and clamps can also be attached to shakers to increase capacity. Find the best shakers, stirrers and mixers in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Medicinal ChemistryMedicinal chemistry is a broad discipline encompassing the design, identification, synthesis and development of chemicals in drug discovery. It includes a number of techniques covering structural biology, synthetic chemistry and molecular biology. Technologies used in medicinal chemistry include ADME, lab-on-a-chip, high content screening and assay assembly.Process ChemistryProcess chemistry is an important stage of drug development for scaling-up drug production or chemical synthesis reactions. It is useful for optimizing economical and efficient drug production. Process chemistry uses reactors and pump systems as well as reagents, standards and buffers.
