Product news

Quantachrome Instruments, a leading manufacturer of materials characterization instruments, announces the launch of the new PentaFoam 5200e. The PentaFoam builds on the reputation of the existing Quantachrome Pentapyc and UltraFoam pycnometers - combining the multiple sample capability of the former with the foam analyzing capability of the latter.

Fully automated analysis sequences are programmed using the built-in keypad, or from your PC using a standard browser... no special software needed! Analyses are made according to ASTM D6226, "Standard Test Method for Open Cell Content of Rigid Cellular Plastics." The PentaFoam offers both both uncorrected and corrected-for-cutting methods. The PentaFoam also includes multi-lingual capability, USB flash (thumb) drive data transfer, ethernet connectivity, a USB printer port and standard true-density measurement mode for polymer pellets, pigments, fillers and other compounding solids.

Particle CharacterizationParticle characterization instruments are used to determine particle size distribution, shape, surface area, zeta potential, density and porosity of particles and materials. Multiple tecchniques are available for determining particle size, shape and count including dynamic light scattering (DLS), laser diffraction, electrozone (Coulter technique), imaging particle analysis and single particle optical sensing. Determine the density of your material with a gas pycnometer or examine its surface area and porosity with gas adsorption analyzers and mercury porosimeters.
