Product news

Lab M is adding new Modified Giolitti and Cantoni Broth (ISO) to its rapidly expanding range of dehydrated culture media formulated to meet the specific ISO requirements of the food industry.

Modified Giolitti and Cantoni Broth (ISO) is used for the enumeration and detection of coagulase-positive staphylococci, both Staphylococcus aureus and other species, from food and animal feeding stuffs using the most probable number technique according to ISO 6888-3:2003. This versatile medium can be used with or without an agar/paraffin plug on the surface, depending upon the testing regime employed.

Following Lab M’s recent launch of Baird-Parker Medium Base (ISO), the addition of Modified Giolitti and Cantoni Broth (ISO) to the company’s range enables users to purchase from one source all requirements for testing for coagulase positive staphylococci in accordance with ISO 6888-3:2003

MicrobiologyMicrobiology is the study of microorganisms including protists, prokaryotes, fungi, and, often, viruses. Microorganisms are a useful research tool as genetic vectors and, in immunology, for antibiotic susceptibility testing, cellular biology and genetics. Microorganisms commonly grow readily in incubators with microbial culture media; this can contain chromogenic supplements to differentiate between cell lines. Estimate your culture’s density of microorganisms with colony counters, or screen and select colonies for desirable clones with automated colony pickers. Additionally, equipment is available to monitor environments for the presence of microbes and identify with microbial identification instruments.
