Product news

Panasonic’s new MCO-170M multi gas incubators provide outstanding quality and performance alongside advanced O2 and CO2 control to maximise cell culture efficiency and optimise results and reproducibility.

Designed specifically for safe, consistent cultivation of successful cell lines in a wide array of demanding and highly-regulated applications in the biomedical, pharmaceutical, medical research and clinical laboratory fields, this latest innovation offers the very highest levels of precision, security and ease-of-use.

Advanced Oxygen Control

Panasonic’s MCO-170M multi gas incubators feature a unique solid Zirconia O2 sensor that enables precise and reliable control of O2 levels over a wide range of values (1-18% and 22-80%) using a single sensor. MCO-170M multi gas incubators are also equipped with multiple, gas-tight, inner doors.

Efficient and Easy-to-Use

With a 161L incubator interior, the MCO-170M multi gas incubators provide plenty of capacity. Designed to improve work efficiency and offer ultimate ease-of-use, the incubators feature integrated shelf supports that provide space for more culture vessels and an easy-to-clean incubator interior, with fully-rounded corners.

Ultimate Control

A new full colour LCD touch screen gives clear information of incubator status (chamber temperature, CO2 and O2 levels, door open status and alarms) with easy access to controller functions for fast, convenient set-up. A graphical chart display allows users to quickly review incubator performance and a standard USB port allows laboratories to optimise cell culture protocols and adhere to standard operating procedures by conveniently transferring logged data to a USB stick. In addition, the unique incubator ID allows registration of multiple units at one site without confusion.

Precision

Panasonic’s MCO-170M multi gas incubators benefit from a Direct heat and air jacket system for high precision temperature control and rapid recovery, ensuring cultures are always maintained under optimum conditions. A dual IR CO2 sensor, which is unaffected by any temperature and humidity changes during door opening, maintains accurate control of critical CO2 levels, for outstanding performance and fast recovery. A precise culture environment is further ensured by advanced PID control of CO2, O2 and temperature.

To provide optimum protection for valuable cultures, MCO-170M multi gas incubators incorporates continuous background contamination control with Panasonic’s InCu saFe® copper-enriched stainless steel interior and optional Safe Cell® UV technology, with new increased UV lamp life, which sterilises airborne and water pan contaminants. Furthermore, the optional H2O2 vapour sterilisation cycle provides a complete, validatable decontamination with a downtime of less than three hours.

Advanced Security

Enhanced security for cell cultures is provided with the MCO-170M multi gas incubator’s optional electric door lock with password.

Medical Device Certification

The MCO-170M series are certified as a Class IIa Medical Device (93/42/EEC and 2007/47/EC) for medical purposes of culturing cells, tissues, organs and embryos.

A Model to Suit Your Application

MCO-170M multi gas incubators are ideal for use in applications which require physiological oxygen levels, such as; In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), stem cell research, regenerative medicine, developmental biology and neurobiology. Available as standard (MCO-170M); with Safe Cell® UV lamp incorporated (MCO-170MUV); and with full options (MCO-170MUVH), including the SafeCell® UV lamp and Panasonic’s H2O2 vapour sterilization, you can now select the most suitable model for your application.
