Product news

Hamilton Robotics are pleased to introduce the CO-RE Super Hydrophobic disposable tips for the MICROLAB® STAR and NIMBUS lines of automated liquid handling workstations. These proprietary tips feature a special surface treatment that repels water-based fluids. By virtually eliminating retention of liquid on the inner and outer surfaces, these new tips offer higher pipetting precision and accuracy and lower residual volumes than conventional untreated or low-retention polypropylene tips. They reduce waste of expensive reagents and enzymes and conserve precious samples.

The new Hamilton Super Hydrophobic tips are ideal for a range of applications where sample conservation and reagent waste reduction are critical, including PCR setup, DNA extraction, limited sample forensic testing and large, population-based studies performed by CROs.

“Our new Super Hydrophobic tips provide a five-fold or more increase over untreated tips in multidispense pipetting precision at low volumes, making them also ideally suited for applications that demand superior performance at low volumes,” comments Rick Luedke, marketing manager for Hamilton Robotics. “The use of these new tips is just one more way our customers can get superior performance on our STAR and NIMBUS lines of automated liquid handlers.”

Hamilton’s proprietary CO-RE (compressed O-ring expansion) technology for tip pickup and ejection delivers robust and consistent liquid handling. All Hamilton CO-RE tip sizes are now available with the Super Hydrophobic surface.
