Black Dog, a third-party provider of refurbished FLIPR® systems and quality FLIPR® system service, introduces an air-cooled laser* that provides researchers with a cost-effective and performance-enhanced option for FLIPR® 1, FLIPR® 2 and FLIPR® 3 instruments. This new “green” technology eliminates the need for water, chillers, and 208V power required with existing laser technology. Installation of the air-cooled laser improves system performance (see Graph), and reduces system footprint by one-half, requiring less laboratory space and increasing system portability. The 110V/500mw laser provides sufficient power for most applications. By using less power and lab space, the system is significantly less costly to run.

Black Dog offers high-quality microplates and pipettor tips, along with the integration of multi-wavelength LEDs* for existing FLIPR® systems. The company’s refurbished FLIPR® instruments include a complete one-year warranty, onsite applications training and preventive maintenance, and are available for sale or lease, making the use of FLIPR® HTS technology a possibility in every lab.

The FLIPR® system experts at Black Dog know how to service and repair FLIPR® instruments for the highest performance and reliability using the most stringent specifications, and ensuring that cell washers and consumable products used with FLIPR® instruments are performing optimally with the systems.

Black Dog is passionate about supporting FLIPR® system users—from training and assay development to on-site repair and troubleshooting. Black Dog is proud of its customer relationships and the value it brings to them through its unmatched dedication to personalized service, honest communications, rapid service response time, and quality workmanship.

MicroplatesMicroplates are multi-well plates used to increase the throughput of biological investigations. The number of wells microplates contain can range from 6 to 3243 wells, with the 96-well format being the most commonly used. Microplates can come tailored for a range of applications including cell culture, PCR, filtration, storage, non-binding surface, protein crystallization, as well as pre-coated, deep well and normal Standard microplates. Additionally, options for microplate colors include clear , black, white or black with clear bottom and white with clear bottom for absorbance microplate reader applications.
