MKF Series climatic test chambers: A new dimension in natural simulation

Product news

BINDER will be exhibiting its new generation of MKF series climatic test chambers at the Electronica trade show in Munich. With a sweet presentation BINDER shows the most relevant advantage: it has more space. 400 tea cakes in direct access are placed in the chamber to show the easy direct handling for the user and the new dimensions. Expanding the scope of natural environmental simulation, these novel climatic test chambers set new standards in research and development, quality assurance and materials testing: absolutely reliable and advanced technology at an affordable cost.

In addition to their improved temperature dynamics - up to 5K/min during heating and cooling - the main advantage of this redesigned series is its newly developed humidification system that injects pressurized steam through a valve into the interior, where the steam rapidly distributes homogeneously and superfine throughout the entire chamber. Since the water is used only once, the system operates under sterile conditions.

Another advantage is that the system will work independent of water quality, optionally with either distilled water or even tap water with a hardness of up to 8°dH. For water with higher hardness concentrations, BINDER offers the BINDER PURE AQUA SERVICE water purification system, which can be installed into the water feed line. Using water from any of these sources, the MKF will produce programmable climatic conditions from 10 to 98% relative humidity at temperatures from 10 to 95°C. In a dry environment, this equipment will handle a temperature range from -40 to 180°C.

These improved temperature and humidity dynamics allow compliance with the required standards for temperature and humidity cycles as well as the majority of relevant customer specifications for industries such as electronics and automotive suppliers. The product is enhanced by BINDER’s proven high-performance program control system, extensive standard features, and many optional accessories.

With the help of the BINDER Individual Service, this new MKF Series generation can of course also be customized to match specific requirements and applications. BINDER's new design has also created the basis for a modular system, which gives customers the opportunity to configure a variety of special applications on their own.

The new MKF 240 of the new generation is already available. The MKF 720 is a worldwide novelty that can be seen at the Electronica in Munich and is available mid November 2008. The other version with 115 L capacity will also be released in the first quarter of 2009.

IncubatorsLaboratory incubators are used to provide a stable environment to cultivate and store samples in, giving you optimal control of temperature, humidity, oxygen and CO2 levels. Incubators are necessary equipment for cell culture and microbial research. Control temperature with heated or refrigerated incubators, or the levels of CO2 and oxygen with CO2 incubators. Using environmental chambers, create a humid climate for testing samples. Microorganisms are a useful research tool as genetic vectors and, in immunology, for antibiotic susceptibility testing, cellular biology and genetics. Microorganisms commonly grow readily in incubators with microbial culture media; this can contain chromogenic supplements to differentiate between cell lines. Estimate your culture’s density of microorganisms with colony counters, or screen and select colonies for desirable clones with automated colony pickers. Additionally, equipment is available to monitor environments for the presence of microbes and identify with microbial identification instruments. Useful features of analyzers such as BOD and COD include portability, easy calibration, automation and sensitivity.  Environmental test kits for pH, water, moisture, etc, should be accurate, sensitive, reliable, fast and easy to use.
