Product news

Millipore Corporation announced today that Viresolve® NFR filters will be available with SMART Technology. Millipore’s SMART Technology combines RFID (radio frequency identification) tags with a reader and is an error proof way to convey critical information electronically about Viresolve NFR cartridges to customers. These tags are fully isolated from the flow path and do not affect filter performance.

Key filter specifications are stored on the tag, including catalogue number, lot number, serial number and unit specific diffusion value. Instead of using a generic specification, customers now have the ability to use the specifications unique for each filter in a multi-round housing. The AccuSMART™ reader software reads each cartridge before it is placed in a multi-round housing and then calculates the integrity testing specification for this housing providing a more accurate integrity testing specification. A print out is generated for record keeping. The need to visually read, transcribe and manipulate key filter specifications is eliminated, preventing transcription and calculation mistakes.

FiltrationFiltration and microfiltration are used to separate solids, particulates or large molecules from fluids (liquid or gases) in order to purify the filtrate. Explore a range of filter formats, including filter paper, plates and membranes for your separation needs. While larger particulates may be separated by gravity filtration, smaller particulates may require additional force for timely separation. Microfiltration equipment includes vacuum filters, as well as positive pressure, crossflow and centrifugal filtration devices.
