Product news

Millipore Corporation, a Life Science leader providing technologies, tools and services for bioscience research and biopharmaceutical manufacturing, today announced the availability of ProSep Ultra Plus Prepacked Columns.

ProSep Ultra Plus chromatography media, launched earlier this year, is now available in a convenient, easy-to-use prepacked column format. ProSep Ultra Plus Prepacked Columns are ready to use, small scale columns that are an ideal tool for initial media screening, scaling and optimization studies. The prepacked columns are available in 1 mL, 2.5 mL and 5 mL sizes and are compatible with any lab scale chromatography system.

ProSep Ultra Plus media is the highest capacity protein A chromatography media, delivering up to 50% greater productivity for today's higher titer therapeutic antibody processes. It is an affinity resin with the highest dynamic binding capacity (>50mg/ml at 10% breakthrough with 3-6min residence time) and flow rate capability of any comparable resin on the market. Based on the proven technology of ProSep chromatography media, ProSep Ultra Plus media can deliver the most cost effective solution to protein A affinity MAb capture processing. In addition, its rigid base matrix enables predictable scale-up and greater process flexibility, presenting users with the opportunity to reduce the equipment footprint.

Gas chromatographs or GC systems include components such as GC columns, detectors, pumps and autosamplers. Choose from packed or capillary GC columns, flame ionization (FID), photoionization (PID) electron capture detectors and selective or non-selective detectors. Select specific antigen reactivity, high specific affinity, low non-specific binding, monoclonal or polyclonal, primary or secondary antibodies and associated conjugates such as an enzyme or dye for visualization.Protein PurificationProtein purification is a vital step in drug discovery, therapeutics, biotech and life science research. The purification process typically involves subcellular or membrane protein extraction with cell lysis kits, separation of proteins from cell debris by filtration or spin columns, and the isolation of proteins of interest from other proteins and impurities with affinity purification (including fusion protein tags and antibody binding proteins A, G and L), immunoprecipitation or chromatographic methods, such as ion exchange, size exclusion and immobilized metal affinity chromatography. All purification methods come in multiple formats for your laboratory needs, including agarose or magnetic beads, resins, columns and filter plates. TLC plates come in multiple sizes with common adsorbent layers being silica, aluminum oxide or cellulose and high-performance (HP-TLC) plates are also available for increased sensitivity. Other equipment needed includes TLC developing chambers, applicators, TLC sprayers and visualizing devices, such as a viewing cabinet and UV lamp.
