Millipore Launches Tyrosine Kinases with BioForm™ Technology

Product news

Millipore Corporation, a Life Science leader providing technologies, tools and services for the bioscience research and biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry, today announced the launch of its Tyrosine Kinases with BioForm Technology developed by P.A. Technologies in Amherst, MA. The coupling of the technology and select Millipore Tyrosine kinases provides a better, more biologically relevant environment for cell signaling research and discovery efforts.

Conventional analysis of membrane protein signaling involves studying a single protein interacting with a single partner. Such analysis loses rich, two-dimensional information afforded by organization of proteins on the membrane surface. BioForm Technology enables the unique assembly of histidine-tagged proteins in an environment that mimics that created by a cell membrane. This template restores the organizing features of the membrane without the difficulties of membrane preparation and reconstruction procedures. The technology is adaptable to high throughput assay format and is applicable to many signaling systems.

Millipore’s Tyrosine Kinases with BioForm Technology can be used in many key stages of drug discovery research, including early stage drug screening, signal transduction and regulation of enzymatic activity. Additionally, this new kinase assay platform may be used for functional in vitro assembly of multiple protein targets.

High-Throughput ScreeningHigh-throughput screening (HTS) is an automated drug discovery technique for identification of active compounds against a compound library. Use HTS readers and integrated assay preparation / analysis workstations to screen your compounds. Identify active compounds against various HTS libraries, including membranes, proteins and peptides and HTS cell lines. Assay assembly requires chip assembly, a delivery system and a detection and analysis method. Beneficial features of assay kits or automated systems include high-throughput, high speed and sensitivity and low signal to noise ratio.
