Millipore Corporation, a Life Science leader providing technologies, tools and services for the bioscience research and biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry, today unveiled its new state-of-the-art website. Powered by a fast, robust search engine, the new millipore.com provides visitors with quick and easy access to product or other information, by application, product type, pathway diagrams, and research topic.

"Our new website reflects Millipore’s commitment to the Life Science community through expanded capabilities and customer focus,” said Martin Madaus, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Millipore. “Our customers will be able to quickly access information on such fields as cell biology, protein research and downstream bioprocessing. Customers will also appreciate the ease of purchase through our improved e-business platform.”

With more than 250,000 content pages in eight languages, Millipore’s new web site meets the needs of its rapidly growing global customer base. The new millipore.com is a valuable tool offering scientific expertise and innovative solutions in research, development and production to help customers tackle their most complex problems and achieve their goals. More than an on-line store, millipore.com is a destination customers can return to again and again to enrich their understanding of new products, novel laboratory applications, and ever expanding research fields. And Millipore’s new brand look and feel enhances the overall site experience.

Key features of the new site include:

  • Learning Centers — helping customers navigate complex technical information.
Service Center — offering professional expertise in training, testing and consulting.
  • Collaborative Tools — In 2008, website architects will unveil a series of community-based platforms, where scientists can interact with one another and exchange ideas.

"The new website is a great resource for our customers to find critical information," said Bridget Reiss, Vice President, Information Technology. "We have taken our very complex business and made it possible to get all the information you need with just a couple of clicks."

With recent acquisitions, Millipore customers now have access to more than 25,000 products in areas including: life sciences, drug discovery, sample prep, lab water, upstream and downstream bioprocessing and process monitoring. As a result of the increased product portfolio and the more efficient website, the number of annual site visits to millipore.com is expected to double in 2008 from 5 million to 10 million worldwide. The company expects that this increased traffic will be an important factor in helping to expand its business in several key markets worldwide. The website overhaul is part of Millipore’s ongoing transformation from a filtration provider to leading Life Science company.
