Lonza has launched its Hematopoietic and Immune Cells Knowledge Center, an online knowledge and education resource for scientists working in the field of hematopoietic research. The new portal has been specifically designed to help researchers stay up to date with this rapidly evolving area by providing concise but insightful summaries of important papers and by commenting on continued developments through bespoke review articles.

Although the portal has only recently been launched, it already includes a host of valuable content. This content includes educational articles, such as a review of the function and differentiation pathways of T-Cells and an introduction to the role of natural killer (NK) cells. Articles on the portal are also designed to help researchers get the most out of their reagents, such as when using peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and other blood cell types. Extending beyond research and looking further into translational applications, discussions are included on the use of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) for human transplantation to treat patients undergoing high doses of radiation and chemotherapy.

New articles are added to the portal regularly, and suggestions for future content from others in the community are encouraged. The Lonza team believes that the portal will become an essential resource for researchers working with hematopoietic cells and recognizes the importance of their feedback to ensure that the information provided continues to be relevant, comprehensive and valuable.

“It’s an exciting time to be a scientist, with seemingly endless opportunities to utilize scientific discovery to make a positive impact on our lives. However, with so many new papers published on an almost daily basis, pressure is increasing on researchers to keep up with the latest advancements,” said Tracee Crossett, Product Manager for Hematopoietic and Immune Cells at Lonza Bioscience Solutions. “To help scientific researchers, we developed the Hematopoietic and Immune Cells Knowledge Center. What started as just a collection of recent paper summaries has since morphed into a rapidly expanding educational and entertaining online resource.”
