Labnet International will be displaying their newest additions including the Prism R™ refrigerated microcentrifuge with intuitive controls, exceptional performance and a small footprint and the new PlateSpinner™ - a dedicated centrifuge for quick spins of microplates. To find out more visit booth 416.

The MultiGene™ Gradient thermal cycler and MultiGene™ Mini personal thermal cycler will be on display for researchers to experience the ease of programming these machines. Visitors to the booth can also see the Enduro™ Gel XL, a complete electrophoresis system with direct connect power supply, as well as the rest of the Enduro™ Electrophoresis and power supply line.

Labnet's line of temperature controlled products will be represented by the AccuBlock™ Digital Block Heater and the VorTemp™ 56 - a vortex mixer/heater for microtubes and microplates. The two newest additions to the shaker line will be on display - the Enduro™ MiniMix, a 3D mixer is perfect for processing blots in the Enduro™ Blot Boxes. The other new shaker is the Revolver™, which can mix tubes horizontally, vertically or any position in between with a simple turn of the rotisserie. Tubes from 0.5 ml to 50ml are accommodated in standard and optional rotisseries.

ElectrophoresisElectrophoresis equipment is used to separate mixtures of protein, DNA or RNA, based on their electric charge, size and other physical characteristics, by passing them through a medium such as a polyacrylamide gel, an agarose gel or a capillary tube. Electrophoresis equipment includes horizontal and vertical gel electrophoresis chambers, isoelectric focusing systems, 2D electrophoresis and capillary electrophoresis instruments. Precast gels with a gradient can be used or gels can be hand cast. Samples are run alongside ladders or markers to identify the approximate size of a molecule. Separated proteins and nucleic acids in the gel can be stained or probed with fluorescent markers and then imaged and detected using gel documentation instruments, transilluminators, densitometers and scanners. There is a wide range of laboratory mixing equipment available, including magnetic stirrers, orbital shakers, linear shakers, microplate shakers, 3D gyratory rockers, rotators & vortexers. Additional platforms and clamps can also be attached to shakers to increase capacity. Centrifuges come in three sizes: microcentrifuges, benchtop and floor-standing centrifuges, depending on the volume and number of samples that require separation. When choosing a centrifuge, consider its maximum separation power indicated by its relative centrifugal force (RCF) value. Low force centrifuges reach a maximum RCF of 8,000 g, high-force centrifuges can reach maximum RCF values of 80,000 g. For extremely high forces, consider ultracentrifuges (up to 800,000 g). Refrigerated and vacuum centrifuges also known as concentrators are available for more specialized applications. A range of volumes are available for centrifuge tubes and microfuge tubes, depending on sample sizes.
