The Attension Theta 3D Topography instrument uniquely combines simultaneous contact angle measurements with surface topography measurements on the same spot.

The effect of surface roughness on the contact angle is well known. Until now, contact angle and surface roughness have only been measured individually but with the Attension Theta 3D Topography Module automated measurements are now possible. With the included software OneAttension, surface roughness and roughness corrected contact angles are calculated automatically.

Product manager Maiju Pöysti states, “The Attension Theta 3D Topography will enable efficient wetting and adhesion measurements. This is especially important when working with different types of surface modifications where both surface chemistry and surface topography are altered.”
