JASCO had a huge success while at Pittcon 2006; conferee interests were truly genuine despite the decrease in overall attendance.

JASCO unveiled a new booth design, hoping to create some excitement both internally and within the analytical industry. In addition, JASCO featured several new instruments, including our new DT-810 Dissolution Tester, J-815 Circular Dichroism Spectrometer, and two exclusive X-LC configurations, which received the most attention.

The model DT-810 Dissolution Tester is a fully automated and uniquely designed instrument focusing on the pharmaceutical market to provide dissolution testing of up to eight samples with either the paddle method (standard) or the rotating basket method (optional). JASCO’s new DT-810 Dissolution Tester can be incorporated with three different analysis systems based on user requirements, including the Flow System, Fraction System, and Fraction Flow System.

The new J-815 is the latest in the “J” series of JASCO Spectrometers for measuring Circular Dichroism. The uniquely designed Photo Elastic Modulator (PEM) provides greater stability and higher sensitivity than previous models. Some of the new J-815 features include a new compact bench top design and a wavelength range of 163 nm to 900 nm. Spectra Manager II software control is now standard for instrument control and data analysis, with an optional 21 CFR11 compliant package.

And finally at Pittcon, JASCO revealed several new additions to the X-LC, which include the fluorescence detector and the chiral detector. Additionally, JASCO revealed the X-LC’s ability to front-end major mass spectrometers on the market. Lastly, JASCO released its new software development with Agilent, announcing that EZChrom Elite Chromatography Data Systemis now formatted for the control of X-LC.
