Product news

Irish Life Sciences, an injection molder of storage/collection plates, reagent reservoirs, and assay plates based in Athlone, Ireland are excited to offer a new product to their growing range of low-profile plates.

The range of 96-well low-profile plates is designed to maximize storage space by offering storage volume at a reduced plate height, allowing more plates to be stored or stacked in a given space. The plates are designed to maximize robotic plate stacker volume and storage and are ideal for intermediate or long-term storage of samples. The low-profile range currently consists of:

The new low profile designed 96 square well plate (1S96-016ULP) achieves a max storage volume of 1.2ml, with a well height of just 24mm. The stack height of two plates is 46.32mm, which allows more plates to be stored or stacked in a given space. The design of the new low-profile plate includes a U-bottom to enable maximum liquid uptake, alphanumeric well coding for easy sample tracking, and a flat surface to enable sealing. All Irish Life Sciences Low Profile plates are designed and manufactured to comply with the footprint dimensions defined by SLAS/ANSI standards. This guarantees its compatibility with both manual and automated sample handling systems, readers, and microplate washers.

The low-profile 96-well plates are manufactured in an ISO Class 8 cleanroom and are RNase / DNase-free. The plates are manufactured using medical-grade polypropylene which ensures low extractables and offers high chemical resistance and temperature resistance (-80 °C to +121 °C). The low-profile plates are autoclavable.

Irish Life Sciences can also offer a range of low-profile plates sterilized or with barcodes for the identification and traceability of your samples. The barcode labels are highly scratch-resistant and withstand cold storage (-80°C), temperatures of up to 100°C, and solvents.

If you would like to request a sample of Irish Life Science's new low profile plate 1S96-016ULP or any of the low profile range please reach out.

MicroplatesMicroplates are multi-well plates used to increase the throughput of biological investigations. The number of wells microplates contain can range from 6 to 3243 wells, with the 96-well format being the most commonly used. Microplates can come tailored for a range of applications including cell culture, PCR, filtration, storage, non-binding surface, protein crystallization, as well as pre-coated, deep well and normal Standard microplates. Additionally, options for microplate colors include clear , black, white or black with clear bottom and white with clear bottom for absorbance microplate reader applications.
