IDEX Health & Science, LLC has introduced MarvelX UHPLC Connection Systems to their portfolio of products. These connection systems have been designed specifically for easy routing throughout an instrument, while providing consistent performance and superior re-usability. Built with convenient, removable stainless steel fittings and changeable, precision-cut flexible tubing, MarvelX can be used up to 200 times. The connection system is compatible with 10-32 coned receiving ports and is truly finger-tight to 19,000 psi, no tool is required. MarvelX utilizes unique next-generation, patent pending technology and ensures zero dead volume to deliver better chromatography results every time it is used.

“MarvelX can be used in any application where a robust and high repeat use connection is required. The sealing technology is an advanced version of our proven super flangeless technology which we invented 20 years ago” said Scott Ellis, Director of Engineering, IDEX Health & Science. “Usually users sacrifice performance for ease of use or it requires complex techniques and tools to get high performance. One advantage of MarvelX is that you don’t sacrifice reliable high performance for ease of use” states Aytug Kulaksiz, Product Solutions Manager, IDEX Health & Science.

Conventional UHPLC fittings utilize a ferrule and they require significant force to seal. Even then, they require special handling to make sure users can achieve a proper sealing. In other words, too many variables need to be managed well to make a good connection. IDEX Health & Science took these variables out of the equation when designing MarvelX. “The key advantage of MarvelX is that it is a plug and play product which seals at the bottom of the port with a very easy operation and creates a zero dead volume seal every time” stated Ellis.

The design of MarvelX was born out of a need to improve ease of use and reliability of other fittings in the market. “We interviewed a broad range of users to understand their pain points using the popular fitting systems currently available. As a result, we designed MarvelX to avoid tools completely, enable same high performance every time it is used regardless of the user” said Kulaksiz.

UHPLC and HPLCHigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC), also known as UPLC, are analytical techniques used to separate, identify and quantitate components of complex mixtures including biological samples such as proteins and lipids as well as chemical mixtures of pesticides, drugs and oils. Both techniques are liquid chromatographic methods but differ by operating pressures (HPLC < 6000 psi < UHPLC ). Components of HPLC and UHPLC systems include columns, detectors, pumps, autosamplers and column heaters. Explore a range of UHPLC and HPLC columns for your specific sample needs including reverse phase, normal phase, ion exchange, HILIC, ion exclusion and size exclusion columns. It is widely used in fields like biochemistry, pharmaceuticals, and environmental analysis. By exploiting differences in the interaction of substances with a stationary phase and a mobile phase, chromatography enables precise purification and quantification of compounds. Whether you're working with complex biological samples or industrial chemicals, chromatography is essential for obtaining high-quality results.
