Product news

ICx Technologies will be exhibiting its SensiQ line of surface plasmon resonance systems in conjunction with its distributor in Germany, PJK GmbH. Featured will be the fully automated SensiQ Pioneer system which provides high sensitivity and high throughput in a cost-effective platform. Protein-small molecule interactions are of particular importance to drug discovery researchers and the Pioneer has the ability to produce both affinity and kinetics data for analytes with a molecular weight of less than 100 Da. To learn more about these capabilities visit hall 9, stand G45.

The Pioneer’s flexible sampling system can access samples from 96 well microplates, vials, or tubes and can perform serial dilutions automatically allowing researchers to focus on results rather than sample preparation. A novel feature of the SensiQ Pioneer is the gradient injection function which allows users to determine interaction kinetics with a single injection rather than a series of injections. This can reduce analysis time by as much as 75% and provides real time-savings for labs with high throughput needs.

BiosensorsBiosensors are devices used to detect an analyte using biological molecules specific to the analyte coupled to a detector. Biosensor instruments may be photometric, typically using surface plasma resonance (SPR), electrochemical or QCM (quartz crystal microbalance) biosensors. Biosensors should be selective, portable, robust and sensitive and have a fast response time. Systems may be manual or automated and usually have associated software.MicroplatesMicroplates are multi-well plates used to increase the throughput of biological investigations. The number of wells microplates contain can range from 6 to 3243 wells, with the 96-well format being the most commonly used. Microplates can come tailored for a range of applications including cell culture, PCR, filtration, storage, non-binding surface, protein crystallization, as well as pre-coated, deep well and normal Standard microplates. Additionally, options for microplate colors include clear , black, white or black with clear bottom and white with clear bottom for absorbance microplate reader applications. Find the best microplates for your lab in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Plate ProcessingAutomated plate processing is used in microplate technologies for high-throughput, speed and efficiency. Plate processing systems include microplate handlers for moving plates, heat sealers, stackers and carousels for storage, retrieval and delivery, microplate washers and piercers. Useful features of plate processors include walk-away automation, compatibility and easy integration with microplate systems.
