R&D Systems now offers a Human Fetuin A DuoSet ELISA Development Kit (Catalog # DY1184). Human Fetuin A, also known as Alpha 2-Heremans-Schmid glycoprotein (AHSG), is a member of the cystatin superfamily of protease inhibitors.

It is expressed primarily by hepatocytes, as well as monocytes and macrophages. Fetuin A enhances entry of cationic inhibitors into macrophages, inhibits autophosphorylation of the insulin receptor, and prevents undesirable calcification. As a negative acute phase protein, the levels of Fetuin A decrease significantly following injury or infection. The new DuoSet ELISA Kit contains the basic components required to measure Fetuin A in cell culture supernates. It includes capture and detection antibodies, a protein standard, and Streptavidin-HRP for the development of fifteen 96-well plates.
