Horiba Scientific introduce QExtra Technology for Back-illuminated Deep Depleted (BIDD) CCD detectors, an anti-reflective multilayer coating which significantly improves the quantum efficiency over a broad spectral range whilst minimising the undesirable etaloning effects.

With QExtra Technology there is up to a 50% improvement in the quantum efficiency compared with the basic BIDD CCDs currently on the market, and it is available in both our thermoelectrically-cooled and liquid Nitrogen-cooled CCDs. This increase in sensitivity offered by QExtra Technology makes Horiba Scientific BIDD CCDs the ideal scientific detector for luminescence and Raman spectroscopy applications.
