Highlighting the Importance of Calibrating Equipment and Staff

During Pittcon 2012, Artel (booth 1133) will continue its mission to bring laboratories the most advanced training, tools and knowledge for liquid handling quality assurance.
The company will be holding the Pipetting Olympics which gives attendees a chance to test their pipetting skills using the ARTEL PCS® Pipette Calibration System. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to those Olympians that most precisely dispense a target volume of 20 µL five times in a row – and the overall winner of the competition will be announced on the last day of the show.
The competition highlights the effects of pipetting technique on results and how important it is for operators to calibrate both their equipment and their technique. Artel’s experts will offer a series of tips to help improve pipetting technique and reduce the effect of human error in the laboratory.
In addition, Artel will be launching two new applications that use the ARTEL MVS® Multichannel Verification System to verify steps in the assay workflow that are critical to gaining reliable results.
