Product news

INTEGRA has published a video demonstrating how its VIAFLO 96 handheld electronic pipette, used in conjunction with the Seahorse Bioscience XF96 Extracellular Flux Analyzer, provides high throughput screening of the cellular bioenergetics of multiple cell lines.

The measurement of cellular bioenergetics, the processes by which cells produce and consume energy, is fundamental to determining the growth, development, function and metabolism of cells. The Seahorse Bioscience XF96 Extracellular Flux Analyzer enables the determination of the two major energy yielding pathways in cells, aerobic respiration and glycolysis, by simultaneously measuring the oxygen consumption rate (OCR) and the extracellular acidification rate (ECAR).

In laboratory tests the VIAFLO 96 is shown to simplify and significantly accelerate the loading of substrates, inhibitors and stimulators into the XF96 Extracellular Flux Assay Cartridges prior to making cellular bioenergetics measurements.

The VIAFLO 96 from INTEGRA is an internationally proven 96-channel handheld electronic pipette that enables fast, precise and easy simultaneous transfer of 96 samples. The system has been designed such that 96 channel pipetting is as easy as single channel pipetting, consequently users are able to immediately benefit from the increased productivity delivered by their VIAFLO 96.

Using an XF96 Extracellular Flux Analyzer, investigators can measure the effects of up to four compounds on cellular metabolism, as well as determine the basal oxygen consumption and glycolysis rates. The XF96 Extracellular Flux Analyzer can also generate data on respiratory capacity, mitochondrial function, fatty acid oxidation, glycolytic function,, fatty acid, and amino acid metabolism, as well as ATP turnover and cell signaling in primary, adherent, tumor and suspension cells, islets, and isolated mitochondria. This cellular information is of considerable importance to researchers developing new drugs for cancer, aging, and metabolic, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative diseases.

VIAFLO 96 – Electronic 24 and 96 Channel Handheld Pipette

INTEGRA Biosciences

VIAFLO 96 increases productivity of sample preparation in microplates. It is used like a standard handheld pipette. It is hand-controlled but movements are supported by motors for an effortless workflow and precise targeting of the microplate wells. The working volume range of VIAFLO 96 can be quickly adapted to the application’s requirements by changing the pipetting heads. The 24 channel heads are available in the volume ranges 10-300 µl and 50-1250 µl and the 96 channel heads in the volume ranges 0.5-12.5 µl, 2-50µl, 5–125 µl, 10–300 µl and 50–1250 µl. VIAFLO 96 benefits from the innovative GripTip system. The special pipette tips, together with the unique tip fitting, form an integral system. It guarantees tips will not fall off during pipetting and provides a reliable sealing of every tip. VIAFLO 96 can be used for sample transfers from reservoir to plate, plate to plate or within plates. Features and Benefits:  • VIAFLO 96 is used like a handheld pipette and has an intuitive user interface, freeing staff from training time. • Pipetting heads can be changed for an optimal instrument adaption to different volume ranges, increasing accuracy and precision. • The innovative GripTip system provides a reliable sealing of every tip and guarantees that tips will never fall off, providing safe and reproducible assay preparation. • Various pipetting modes are available for increased productivity and application customization.
